Talented artist He Wu became her career as a child star in China. She débuted Madame Butterfly at Iford 2018 finale as Madame Butterfly. It is reported that He Wu is a star who is destined to return to this role again and again.
He Wu is a revelation as Butterfly. Her voice is unforgettably powerful, with a soaring range which succeeded in stirring every soul in the full house.
As beautifully sung as it is heart-rendingly characterised, Cio-Cio-San’s fate is evident from the first. He Wu’s “big aria”, One Fine Day, was so enthralling that the audience held back from the applause it so richly deserved.
