NEWS Anglo Asia Education Foundation sponsoring the London launch and signing of Let Not The Sun Set On You

On Friday 2nd May 2025 the Anglo Asia Education Foundation had the great privilege of sponsoring the London launch and signing of Let Not The Sun Set On You by His Excellency Kingsley Mamabolo. The event was held in the elegant 10 Trinity Square Private Club at the Four Seasons Hotel, where guests gathered at noon to celebrate this remarkable memoir.

Mrs Jing Aarons, Chair of the Anglo Asia Education Foundation, opened the afternoon with warm words of support:

“We are honoured to have sponsored Ambassador Mamabolo’s book launch. His journey from activist to world‐stage diplomat is both inspiring and a testament to his character. Today’s gathering celebrates his achievements and our shared belief in building bridges through learning and dialogue.”

Following Mrs Aarons’ warm welcome, Ambassador Mamabolo took to the podium and invited everyone not just to learn about South Africa’s journey, but to discover the many chapters of Africa’s wider story. His memoir brings those experiences to life with clear-eyed reflections and personal anecdotes. Afterward, attendees enjoyed tea and refreshments while engaging in lively conversation. Discussions ranged from the early days of the liberation struggle to current peace efforts in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa. It was a delightful afternoon of shared stories, fresh perspectives and good company.

Let Not The Sun Set On You, released in February 2025, offers a firsthand account of Ambassador Mamabolo’s journey—from his youth in Soweto and years in exile to his role in building South Africa’s democracy and promoting peace on the world stage. He currently serves as South Africa’s High Commissioner to the UK and also represents the UN and African Union in Darfur. Over his career he has held senior diplomatic posts at the UN, in Nigeria, Zimbabwe and with the African Union, and played key roles in peace processes across Africa.

Guests left inspired by heartfelt conversation and Ambassador Mamabolo’s vision for an Africa where the sun never sets on the dreams of freedom and dignity. It was a wonderful afternoon, and the Anglo Asia Education Foundation is proud to have played its part in bringing this important work to light.
