NEWS Parliamentarians Claim Historic Win at Fifth Annual Diplomats vs Parliamentarians Golf Match

A wonderful day at Wentworth Club, where diplomats and parliamentarians came together for the fifth annual golf match on the famous Championship Course. Under glorious sunshine, with lively chatter and friendly competition in equal measure, everyone on the fairways could have been forgiven for feeling like they were out on the PGA Tour.

This year's match will be remembered for a genuinely historic result. After four previous contests, the parliamentarians secured their first ever win, a moment that was met with plenty of good-humoured celebration (and no shortage of ribbing from the diplomats).

We were delighted to welcome participants from across the diplomatic community, including representatives from the European Union, Singapore, Kazakhstan, South Africa and Rwanda, alongside parliamentarians from both sides of the aisle. It made for a wonderful mix of perspectives, plenty of banter and some genuinely excellent golf.

We were proud to be the sole charitable sponsor of the tournament, and our board members took the opportunity to speak about the work of Future Makers, sharing more about the programme with everyone in attendance.

Congratulations are due to all the prize winners on the day, from the best shot through to best lady player. Well played to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all who took part, and to the wonderful team at Wentworth for helping make the day so memorable. We are proud to support this tournament each year, both for the love of the sport and for the chance it gives us to raise awareness of the work we do through the Future Makers Foundation.
